Premium Atlantic SeriesThe Jeld Wen Premium Atlantic is a top line aluminum window. It gets okay reviews, but it isn't anywhere close to the best in the market. It uses a rolled aluminum than tends to dent if hit to hard. At the low end of the aluminum clad market.
Kolbe Ultra SeriesThis is a very nice looking window and an excellent option in the mid range price (these clad windows tend to be very expensive). The window greats good reviews, seems to have very few issues and is quite nice looking.
Marvin Ultimate SeriesMarvin's best and only aluminum clad window is the Ultimate. It is widely considered to be one of the best wood windows available. They look great, and you can choose from Douglas fir, mahogany, white oak, pine, and cherry. There are nearly unlimited customizations, with a lot of different upgrades available.
Loewen Standard Aluminum CladLoewen's Standard wood window comes in a variety of styles, including bays and bows, awnings, casements, pictures, double hungs, transom and specialty models. The homeowner can choose from either a Mahogany or Douglas Fir interior. The exterior is clad with extruded aluminum and has a Kunar finish, with plenty of colors to choose from. The standard glass package is the Low-E2, but there are additional options available. These are exceptionally beautiful windows and well made, but they are one of the more expensive windows on the market. Loewen Cyprium CollectionLike the Standard line, the Cyprium has either a Douglas fir or mahogany interior. The sash and frame have several customization options. The most significant differences is the exterior cladding, which in the Cyprium is either bronze or copper. There are several different patinas to choose from as well. The alternative metals give it a more elegant look than the more common aluminum cladding. In addition to the standard awning, casement, and picture window, it comes in a variety of specialty shapes. Like other top of the line windows, you want to make sure you get a quality installer to do it justice. Again, these are exceptionally beautiful windows and well made, but they are one of the most expensive windows on the market. |
