Kolbe Windows Prices

Kolbe windows prices start at $350 and top out at $1000 fully installed. The company was at one time called Kolbe & Kolbe, although they are now Kolbe Windows And Doors. The make a number of different window series and models, from vinyl window lines to all wood and also wood clad options.

Kolbe is known primarily for their wood windows and they are not an inexpensive window. Along with Andersen and Pella windows, Kolbe is one of the higher end window manufacturers. Read Kolbe window reviews to see customer and installer viewpoints on this manufacturer.

Kolbe Latitude Series

The Latitude vinyl series is the entry level model that is available as either new construction or in a replacement option as well. It can be ordered as an awning, bow or bay, casement, single or double hung, slider or in several specialty shapes and configurations. Kolbe isn't really known as a vinyl window company and there isn't a ton of information out there on this window. The double hung with the argon fills and low-e glass option gets a .32 U-factor, .20 SHGC and .32 VT. Our best guess is that it is probably comparable to say the Easton Series from Vinylmax - check all Vinylmax window costs.

Kolbe Windquest Series

The Windquest vinyl series is a hurricane window that is manufactured and marketed for regions that experience strong weather and hurricane like conditions. The Windquest is available in 22 exterior colors and can be ordered in a triple or double pane option. This window offers just okay performance numbers, although it does have a DP50 rating and an r5 insulating rating. We were actually surprised by the U-factor of .35 that we found on nfrc.org when we checked the performance of this window. The Windquest is probably comparable in price, but not quality to the 500 series from PGT. Check out all of our PGT windows prices here.

Kolbe Classic Series

The Classic aluminum clad window is one of Kolbe's original lines and is now considered their entry level wood window. The Classic offers a wood interior, along with a roll form aluminum on the exterior cladding. This process was once standard in the industry, but is now considered an inferior option to the extruded method (Kolbe actually uses this on both the Ultra and VistaLuxe models). The Kolbe Classic is a simple and streamlined window with a polyester finish that comes in 4 exterior colors and 10 different styles.

Kolbe Heritage Series

The Heritage wood window is the series they are best known for - the Heritiage is an all wood window that is competitively priced and quite a nice option for homeowners who want the look of wood on the outside of their home. The exterior is painted with a finish called K-Kron II, which protects the wood from the effects of the environment. The Heritage has good distribution and is probably comparable to the Jeld Wen Custom Wood Series - explore Jeld Wen window prices here.

Kolbe Ultra Series

The Ultra wood clad window is the newer version of the Classic model and uses the extruded method to apply the aluminum - the Classic uses the roll form, which many contractors think is an inferior process. The result is thicker aluminum that doesn't flex as much and looks better, especially in the corners. The Ultra is a nicer looking and designed window that is available in some 30 exterior colors and 10 interior wood species. There are lots of customization options on this window. The Kolbe Ultra received a 54 rating from Consumer Reports - a low score for the most part. The Ultra is perhaps comparable in quality to the Pella Impervia.
